We
always need volunteers, and we need those volunteers to come faithfully and on
time! If you have not already done so, please volunteer to work one day a
month. You can call the Cafeteria at 441-5187 to volunteer your time.
The children really enjoy seeing their parents, grandparents, and friends in the
cafeteria. Certainly, the help is needed to serve meals efficiently. It takes
many hands to serve over 360 people each day in the time available, and we count
on your generosity to make it work.
Each family pays $75 for the cafeteria fee at the beginning of the school year.
Whenever you work or a friend or relative works for your family, $5.00 is
deducted from next year's fees. Since we count on a volunteer when he/she signs
up, a penalty fee is charged when that person doesn't come on the assigned day
and hasn't gotten a substitute or notified one of the chairpersons in time for
her to arrange a sub. The reason for this is to impress the family the need for
workers. When a worker doesn't show or
doesn't call in time, there is a mad scramble to get a replacement. If no
replacement can be found on short notice, the other workers often become so
overburdened that they don't want to return. Making the cafeteria work with
volunteers can be challenging, yet volunteers add a special touch.
Volunteering in the cafeteria is a great way for new parents to meet other
parents and to meet the children informally. Please consider becoming involved
in our cafeteria.
Cafeteria Prices for the 2011-2012 school year are:
Student Lunch = $2.00 per day Charged Lunch = $2.50
Milk = $ .35 if purchased separately
Extra Entree = $.80 Extra
Adult lunch = $2.50 Please bring exact change.
To purchase a lunch ticket, complete a lunch ticket order form indicating
the number of lunches, extra entrees, and/or milks that you are purchasing.
Place this in an envelope with a check to St. Therese Cafeteria or the cash. All
lunch money must be turned in before NOON on Friday. Menus are sent home on
Wednesday in the home folder. Lunch menus are also provided on the school web
site. Lunch Ticket Order Forms may be downloaded from the school web site

Free and Reduced Lunches
Free and Reduced lunch forms are included
in your packet. If after reading the form you think you may qualify, please
complete the form completely
as directed and return it as soon as possible to the office. Ms. O'Leary is
the only one to look at these forms unless they are audited by the state.
You are encouraged to apply even if you won't use the free or reduced lunch
because our federal funding for special services is based on the number of
free and reduced lunch qualifiers we have.
Cafeteria Fee
There is a $75.00 yearly charge for all families (full time grades K - 8) to
be paid before school opens each year. Send payment to St. Therese
Cafeteria. If you choose to work one day per month, $5.00 per day worked
will be refunded to you. (Please help us by volunteering to work yourself
or by getting a family member or friend to work one day per month for your
family. We need you!)
Parent to Lunch Days
Each Friday student names are selected. Those students selected may invite
their parents to lunch on the following Thursday or Friday. Parents follow
the same guidelines found in the Lunch Program. We ask that parents not
bring fast food meals or soft drinks when visiting for lunch. The child must
tell his/her teacher in the morning if his/her parents are coming that day.
The cost of the parent lunch is published in August. Please bring correct
change.
Cafeteria Regulations - All students should:
1. Behave properly and use acceptable table manners.
2. Clean up eating area when finished (table and floor).
3. Place dishes and waste in containers provided.
4. Eat food only in the cafeteria.
5. Speak in a conversational tone of voice.
6. Treat each other and all adults present with courtesy and respect.
