PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL YEAR END REPORT
We THANK those who shared your gifts of time, talent and treasure this past fiscal year. Your stewardship is very much appreciated and needed for the operation of our parish and school which helps us to live our faith and share the Gospel! This report exhibits how your financial contributions were used the past fiscal year and next year’s budget. We hope you find it helpful in understanding the financial story of our parish.
Unfortunately, we experienced a deficit of $212,200. With one-time sources of revenue, namely: $159,100 from the federal government’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and a final school transfer of $161,000, we had a surplus of $108,100. FYI: During the coronavirus shutdown, all parish and school employees were kept on payroll with the PPP.
To stay on top of our expenses for the new fiscal year, we have budgeted $15,600 for our weekly Sunday offering. This amount is needed to operate our parish and school. Your weekly commitment is important to the financial well-being of our parish.
In light of our financial situation this past year, there are four parts to our recovery plan for 2020/21:
We believe this plan will help us match revenue with expenses. As you can imagine, we had to make difficult decisions in decreasing expenses. It was necessary for us to have a balanced budget. We understand not everyone is happy with the cuts and some may disagree with the decisions that were made. We now know that an increase in fundraising is questionable for the foreseeable future. We will probably need to use some/most of our surplus to cover expenses this year. If you have any questions or comments about this report please contact any member of the Finance Council: Mary Brunsman, Elise Fields, Steve Kenkel, Ron Rawe, Tony Roderick, Andy Venneman.
