The St. Therese Altar Society is a dedicated group of women committed to supporting their Pastor and Parish through service, fellowship, and fundraising efforts. Meetings include a time for prayer, fellowship, and a business session where events, new projects, and parish needs are proposed, discussed, and voted on for funding, as resources allow. Members actively contribute by selling tea rings each month and providing vigil candles for purchase. Many also volunteer in various parish ministries, including church cleaning, gardening, the Bereavement Committee, CCD instruction, choir, lectoring, lay distribution, greeting, and caring for altar linens. Through their words and actions, they strive to be examples of faith and service within the parish community.
The Bereavement Committee provides compassionate support to grieving families by assisting in the planning of funeral Masses. Members help select readings and music, offer guidance during the service, and ensure that families feel supported throughout the process. Their mission is to provide comfort and direction during a difficult time. Training is available, and the only requirement is a compassionate heart.
The Gardening Group is a volunteer group dedicated to maintaining the church’s garden areas from spring through fall. Members take responsibility for specific sections, ensuring they are cleaned, weeded, watered, and trimmed throughout the seasons. Volunteers work independently at their own pace, with occasional group efforts for larger projects like mulching or major plantings. No formal meetings are required, and participants must provide their own gardening tools. This ministry offers a flexible and fulfilling way to care for the beauty of the parish grounds.
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s organization dedicated to supporting the parish and the broader community through service, faith, and charitable works. Members actively participate in parish events such as the festival, pancake breakfasts, and various spiritual, social, and fundraising activities. Committed to strengthening the Catholic faith, they seek opportunities to serve wherever needed. Guided by the core principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, the Knights provide a way for Catholic men to support the Church, protect their families financially, and assist those in need. They welcome suggestions on how to best serve the parish and community.
The St. Therese Men's Fellowship provides an opportunity for men to come together in faith and fellowship. Members gather to pray in thanksgiving and praise, reflect on the upcoming weekend’s scriptures, and share prayer intentions. Those who are able are encouraged to attend the Saturday 8:15 AM Mass together, with the opportunity to pray the rosary and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation when available. This group fosters spiritual growth and camaraderie among men seeking to deepen their faith.
The Parish Pastoral Council serves as an advisory body to the pastor, providing guidance on practical matters of parish life and acting as a steward of the Gospel mission. Under the pastor’s direction, the council develops goals that align with the needs of the parish, the Gospel, and the teachings of the Church. Eligible members are active, registered parishioners over the age of 16 who have received the Sacraments of Initiation. Members serve a three-year term, with the possibility of reappointment for an additional term.
